Faith

Faith is…

What is faith?

To me, it’s quite simple. It’s knowing not HOW, but WHEN something will take place…even if it so radical that it makes you seem crazy for trusting the thought. It’s the unequivocal shift that snaps us into reality, letting us know that no one BUT God was able to do whatever was done for us. Faith, even the size of a mustard seed, is enough for something powerful to occur. You just have to believe. For today’s Worship Wednesday, I share with you an old hymn that I grew up singing at my church. I didn’t really understand why the older congregation sang it with such passion, but I can attest to the fact that the older I get, the better I understand their praise.

Lyrics:
What a fellowship, what a joy divine,
Leaning on the everlasting arms;
What a blessedness, what a peace is mine,
Leaning on the everlasting arms.
Refrain:
Leaning, leaning, safe and secure from all alarms;
Leaning, leaning, leaning on the everlasting arms.
Oh, how sweet to walk in this pilgrim way,
Leaning on the everlasting arms;
Oh, how bright the path grows from day to day,
Leaning on the everlasting arms.
What have I to dread, what have I to fear,
Leaning on the everlasting arms?
I have blessed peace with my Lord so near,
Leaning on the everlasting arms.
