Today is my mother’s birthday!!! It’s a celebration!
Because of this, today’s Worship Wednesday post is going to be a little different. You see, my mommy is 77 today! That’s right. 77! I am so blessed that we are both “in the land of the living” as the elders say. As a child, I would wake up to the sounds of Blues music on Saturday mornings. It became a routine. We’d get up, eat breakfast, and begin cleaning the house or start working in the yard, gardening, etc. I would always want to water the flowers. Every time, I would get in trouble because I was known to stand in the middle of the yard, spraying water into the sky so that it would create faux rain. Ha! I guess I was making it rain… Good thing I had no idea what that phrase would mean today.
So, in honor of my mom’s special day, I am sharing one of her favorite Blues songs. It is “Mississippi Woman” by Denise LaSalle. I hope that you enjoy, and that you get a little two-step in. 🙂
