For Why?

My great-niece loves saying ‘for why.’ I think it’s her sweet and sassy way of shutting down a conversation. She’s only three and she is definitely a little boss! I don’t get to visit her as often as I’d like but our conversations keep me laughing. For example…

Me: “Let’s clean up our toys.”
Her: “For why?” (hands up in the air)

Me: “It’s time to go night-night.”
Her: “For why?”

Me: “We need to drink water this time. We can get juice later.”
Her: “No, I want juice.”
Me: “But you need water to help you grow.”
Her: “For why?”

No matter the day, she will hit you with her ‘for why’ statement. It’s so difficult to keep a straight face. She’s just too darn cute!

As I drove to the doctor’s office this morning, there was a small part of me that was worried. Out of nowhere, I could hear her little voice saying, ‘for why?’ I laughed and thought of her wisdom. *church hand wave* She’s right…in this moment at least. “Why should I worry? Why should I fret? Look at all the ways He’s made and every promise kept!” So maybe you’re having a moment of doubt and worry. Maybe you’re looking for a small sign that things will work out. Who knows? Maybe you need a little ‘for why’ in your life. If that’s the case, I hope this video lifts your spirits and keeps you moving forward beyond the doubt.

God bless,
K. Jones
